Third Week Reminders and Recap

September 6, 2024

Dear Shaler Area Families,

As we conclude the third week of the school year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Here are a few important updates and reminders:

  • K-3 and 9-12 Curriculum Nights Recap: Thank you to all who attended our K-3 and 9-12 Curriculum Nights this week! It was wonderful to connect with you and share more about our curriculum and plans for the year ahead. If you have any follow-up questions or were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school principal.
  • Invitation for Middle School Families: We warmly invite our middle school families to join us for our Middle School Curriculum Night on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, between 6:00-8:00 p.m. This event will provide a great opportunity to meet teachers, learn more about the curriculum, and discuss our plans for the school year. We look forward to seeing you there!
  • Update Your Contact Information: Please ensure that your email address is up-to-date in Infinite Campus. The email we have on record is used for all mass communications from the district, including important updates and notifications. Remember to check your junk or spam folder periodically to ensure you are receiving all emails from us.
  • Safety Reminder: Please continue to reinforce bus safety rules with your children. Remind them to stay away from traffic, line up at least five giant steps away from the curb, cross in front of the bus with care, and always remain seated on the bus. Keeping our students safe is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate your support.
  • Transportation and Road Work Update: We have been informed by A. Liberoni, Inc. that the work being conducted on behalf of PennDOT in the upcoming week will have little impact on our school transportation services. However, please be aware of side-road repairs in the Duncan Avenue vicinity. We advise families to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time if needed. We will continue to monitor any potential changes and keep you updated.
  • Student Support: As we continue settling into the new school year, please remember that our teachers, school counselors, and principals are here to support your child in any way they need. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have concerns about their adjustment or well-being.

Thank you for being an active part of our school community. Your involvement makes a difference in our students’ experiences and success.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warm regards,

Bryan O’Black, Ed.D
