Steel City Clarinet Day engaged the Western Pennsylvania clarinet community in a day of music making at Shaler Area Middle School on Saturday, August 24.

During the event, middle school students, high school students, college students, continuing adult learners, teachers, performers, and faculty participated in master classes and special topic workshops with featured artists and guests. Participants also had the opportunity to rehearse and perform a variety of repertoire in the Steel City Clarinet Day Community Clarinet Choir. Music businesses from the local area and from around the country were on-site to share their clarinet supplies and knowledge with participating musicians.

The event director was Dr. Amanda Morrison, Slippery Rock University, and featured Christopher Mothersole, University of West Georgia, with special guest Julieta Ugartemendia, visiting from the Symphonic Band of Buenos Aires.
