Yesterday was a historic day for Shaler Area School District as our Titans Softball Team captured the 2026 PIAA Class 5A State Championship with an incredible 10-0 victory over Abington Heights at Penn State University.
The Titans finished the season on a remarkable 22-game winning streak and secured the program’s third PIAA State Championship. Haley Machajewski delivered the final moment in unforgettable fashion with a walk-off grand slam, while Bria Bosiljevac dominated in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out eight batters. Olivia Gieraltowski and Jayla Antomachi also contributed two RBIs in the championship victory.
This championship run showcased the very best of Shaler Area — determination, resilience, teamwork, sportsmanship, and pride. Throughout the postseason, our student-athletes represented our school community with class both on and off the field, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments.
We would like to extend a special thank you and congratulations to Head Coach Tom Sorce and the entire coaching staff for their leadership, commitment, and dedication to our student-athletes. Their work in building a championship culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and excellence has been truly remarkable.
Thank you as well to our families, staff, alumni, and community members who traveled, cheered, and supported our Titans throughout this unforgettable journey. The support shown to our team was extraordinary and a powerful reflection of what makes Shaler Area such a special place.
Congratulations once again to our players and coaches on bringing home a State Championship to Shaler Area. We are incredibly proud of you all.
