Shaler Area High School students in Steve Balsomico’s class taught first-grade students at Marzolf Elementary how to write their names in Japanese. Mr. Balsomico teamed up with elementary art teacher Ms. Teresa Joseph in bringing the student groups together.
Teaching kids to write their names in Japanese is a fantastic way to introduce them to a new language and culture. Additionally, it gave 8 high school students a great opportunity to cultivate the lesson and engage with some of the district’s youngest learners.
