In September, the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Ronald McDonald Care Mobile
visited Scott Primary School to provide essential health services to students throughout
the Shaler Area School District. This important initiative directly supports the mission of
the UPMC CHP Ronald McDonald Care Mobile—to deliver high-quality, compassionate
care to underserved children and families where they live, learn, and play.

The Care Mobile’s presence aligns with the Shaler Area School District’s stated goals to
share compassion as we work to create welcoming learning environments for all
students. By offering services such as wellness checks, immunizations, and preventive
care, the program plays a critical role in removing barriers to health access and
promoting the well-being of every child.

In support of this mission, Shaler Area teachers will be contributing donations during an
upcoming Jeans Day, helping to further the impact of this compassionate outreach. This
collective effort reflects the district’s commitment to nurturing not only academic growth
but also the health and safety of every student in our care.
