Congratulations to Café 118
We are thrilled to congratulate Café 118 for being featured on WTAE for their incredible work as an inclusive coffee shop providing valuable opportunities for Shaler Area students. This feature highlights the positive impact Café 118 has on our school community by fostering an inclusive environment and offering hands-on experiences for students.

PMEA District 1 Orchestra Festival
This past week, three Shaler Area High School students participated in the PMEA District 1 Orchestra Festival at Bethel Park High School. Joining more than 100 talented musicians from across the Pittsburgh region, these students showcased their exceptional skills and dedication.
We’re thrilled to share that through a rigorous audition process, all three students earned the honor of advancing to the PMEA Western Region Orchestra, which will take place in Johnstown, PA, this February!
Congratulations to Hailey Sanders, Christian Mendoza, and Andrew Purucker for their incredible hard work and outstanding achievement. We are so proud of you!
Shaler Area Nutrition & Food Service Joins Facebook
We are excited to announce that the team at Shaler Area Nutrition & Food Service is now on Facebook! Follow their page to learn more about the food that fuels our students and stay informed about upcoming events and initiatives.
Moviemaking Magic: Students Craft an Animated Film
Shaler Area students were recently highlighted in TribLive for their participation in an exciting animated film project. This unique opportunity allowed students to showcase their creativity and storytelling skills while collaborating to produce their own animated film.
The project not only engaged students in hands-on learning but also fostered teamwork, innovation, and a deeper understanding of the moviemaking process. You can read more about this inspiring initiative click here.

The Shaler Area School District is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in the following roles:
- Facilities and Project Manager
This important position will oversee maintenance, manage construction projects, and ensure our district’s infrastructure supports a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment. If you or someone you know is interested, visit the job posting to learn more and apply. - Custodial Positions
We are accepting applications for full-time, part-time, and substitute custodial positions. Candidates will be responsible for cleaning schools to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff. Required clearances include Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114.
