Take 5 with Dr. O’Black — October 2

Take 5 with Dr. O'Black

October 2, 2026

Dear Shaler Area Families,

One of my favorite Shaler Area traditions is just around the corner, and I hope you will join us as we celebrate Homecoming 2026 on Saturday, October 3!

Homecoming is much more than a game or a parade. It is an opportunity for current students, alumni, families, staff, and neighbors to come together and celebrate the connections and traditions that make Shaler Area such a special community. Each year, Homecoming brings generations of Titans together to reconnect, create new memories, and share in the pride we all have in our schools and community.

Whether you are joining us for the parade, community activities, the football game, or simply spending time with fellow Titans, I hope you will be part of this special day.

Homecoming reminds us that no matter when you attended Shaler Area or how you are connected to our schools, we are all Titans.

I look forward to seeing you on October 3 and celebrating Homecoming together!

  • Community Picnic: Immediately following the parade, join us for a picnic on the front lawn of the Central Office and Middle School starting at noon. Staff Spotlight: Michele Speck
Congratulations to Michele Speck, a member of our Food Service team, who has been named a winning recipe creator in The Nutrition Group’s company-wide recipe contest! Her “Big Mac Pizza” was selected for inclusion in A Taste of TNG, a recipe book featuring standout creations from across the company.

This past month, TNG President Nancy Kohl, Chef Guy and Chef Ryan from The Nutrition Group visited  Shaler Area High School to personally present Michele with her award. Congratulations, Michele.
