Shaler Area is celebrating one of its own: Michele Speck, a member of the district’s food service team, has been named a winning recipe creator in The Nutrition Group’s company-wide recipe contest. Michele’s “Big Mac Pizza” was selected for inclusion in “A Taste of TNG,” a recipe book showcasing standout creations from across the company. To mark the achievement, Chef Guy and Chef Ryan from TNG will travel to Shaler Area High School on September 24th to personally present Michele with her award, joined by district and TNG leaders for the celebration. Fittingly, Big Mac Pizza will also be featured that day as the High School’s specialty pizza, giving students and staff the chance to try the winning recipe for themselves. “We are very proud of Michele and excited to celebrate this well-deserved achievement with everyone!” said Alex Ficorilli, Director of Food & Nutrition for Shaler Area School District.
