Re: FRESHMEN ORIENTATION DAY – Friday, August 21, 2026
Welcome Class of 2030! To help make your transition to Shaler Area High School successful, we are holding our Freshmen Orientation Day on Friday, August 21, 2026. The Freshmen Orientation Day will provide you with information to prepare you for the beginning of a successful school year – your freshmen year of high school!
We are running an Early Dismissal schedule for this day which runs from 7:14 – 11:45 AM.
This is a mandatory school day for all high school freshmen and attendance will be taken.
Important Notes and Overview of the day:
• All school buses will begin running their regular routes on this day.
• High School doors open at 6:40 AM.
• Please prepare your arrival time accordingly if you are not taking District transportation.
• All students will report directly to the auditorium on arrival. You will be welcomed by administrators, faculty members, and upper classmen who will share important information with you about being successful at Shaler Area High School.
• Please have a copy of OR access to your class schedule now available in Infinite Campus.
• You will need to know your assigned Homeroom section when you arrive in the morning.
• Your homeroom section will be listed as 09-01, 09-02, 09-03, etc.
• Please bring a pen or pencil with you but leave all other school materials – including backpacks or bookbags – at home. You will not need them on this day.
• You will be dismissed by homerooms and then proceed in assigned groups for orientation rotations and a building tour.
• After the orientation sessions, you will have an opportunity to do a walk-through of your schedule.
• Lunch will be available in the cafeteria on this day, or you may bring a bagged lunch.
• At the end of orientation day, students will board the school buses for transportation home.
We look forward to the beginning of the new academic year filled with promise and excitement and invite you to participate in the many wonderful activities that we have to offer. We know you will find Shaler Area High School to be an exciting place for you to learn and grow, and we wish you the best along your journey.
