SAES Welcome Letter 2026-2027

Dear Shaler Area Elementary Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing summer filled with great memories. Our entire staff is so excited to welcome your children back to school for another fantastic year of learning, discovery, and growth. Mark your calendars—our first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2026!

To help you and your student get ready, schedules will be ready to view in Infinite Campus starting August 10th. You can check them anytime by logging into your portal account. If you need a hand setting up your account or recovering your password, please drop us a line at infinite@shalerarea.org—we are always happy to help!

We would also love for you to join us for Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. It’s a wonderful chance to walk the halls, explore the building, and meet our dedicated teaching team. To ensure everyone has a cozy, comfortable experience, we are splitting the evening by grade level:

5th Grade: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
6th Grade: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A Quick Reminder for Daily Arrival:
On regular school days, our doors open at 8:00 a.m. Upon arrival, 5th Grade students will move directly to the auditorium, and 6th Grade students will head to the cafeteria. Breakfast will be available for all students in those locations! Because staff supervision doesn’t begin until 8:00 a.m., please make sure your child doesn’t arrive before this time so we can keep everyone safe and sound.

Free & Reduced Meal Applications:
The Free and Reduced School Meals Application is now open on the district website at shalerarea.org. If your family participated in the program previously, please remember that a quick re-application is required at the start of each new school year.

We are so grateful for your partnership and can’t wait to work alongside you to make this school year happy, fulfilling, and successful for your child.

Warmly,

Ian Miller
Principal
