The Shaler Area Performing Arts Department recently returned from a truly transformative experience in Orlando.
Our students didn’t just perform—they grew as musicians and young professionals. At Universal Studios, they stepped onto active sound stages and worked alongside industry professionals, exploring the world of production and performance. From Foley sound and studio recording to voiceover work, students experienced firsthand the precision and discipline required in the professional arts industry. It was a powerful opportunity to see how the skills developed in our classrooms translate directly to real-world careers.
The Titan Band proudly marched down Main Street, USA, representing Shaler Area in front of thousands of visitors from around the world—an unforgettable and inspiring moment.
Our Orchestra and Choir students performed at Disney Springs as “honorary cast members,” captivating audiences and drawing crowds who stopped to listen and celebrate the talent of our musicians.
While the performances were exceptional, the most lasting impression came from our students’ conduct off the stage. Time and again, park staff, hotel personnel, and guests approached our group to commend our students for their maturity, professionalism, and kindness.
They represented Shaler Area with remarkable poise and pride. “Titan Magic” was evident not only in their performances, but also in their character.
Experiences like this require tremendous support, and we are grateful to be part of a community that values these opportunities. Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive administration, and especially our incredible chaperones for making this trip possible.
We’re glad to be home—and even prouder that our students had the opportunity to showcase Shaler Area on a global stage.
