Welcome back to another edition of Take 5! As we move further into the spring season, there is a strong sense of momentum building across the Shaler Area School District. Our classrooms are alive with purposeful learning, meaningful connections, and student engagement, as we continue to build on the progress made throughout the year.
This time of year offers so many opportunities for our students to shine. From academic achievements and classroom innovation to performances, competitions, and service experiences, our students continue to demonstrate what it means to Engage, Empower, and Excel. Their growth, creativity, and dedication are a true reflection of the strength of our Titan community.
School Zone & Campus Safety Reminder
As we continue through the spring months, we want to remind all families and community members to follow posted speed limits in school zones, particularly during arrival and dismissal times. Your attention to these guidelines plays a critical role in keeping our students, staff, and community safe.
Earlier this month, we also shared an important communication outlining updated campus safety expectations across the Shaler Area School District. We encourage all families to take a few moments to review this information to ensure awareness and understanding of these important guidelines. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting a safe and secure school environment for all.

Staff Spotlight: Heather DeAngelo
Mrs. DeAngelo, Title I Teacher at Marzolf Primary, is an active and impactful member of our school community. She has created meaningful opportunities that foster both a love of reading and a sense of community, including organizing our “Book Prom” during Read Across America Week. Through this event, students participated in activities such as reading with therapy dogs, hearing a Japanese Kamishibai story, and celebrating their favorite books. Mrs. DeAngelo has expanded access to literacy by creating mini libraries throughout the school, ensuring books are available in shared spaces like hallways and the cafeteria. She organizes our annual Kindness Walk in April in honor of Autism Inclusion Month, helping to promote empathy and inclusion. Mrs. DeAngelo is dedicated, innovative, and caring, consistently building strong relationships and inspiring students to grow as readers and compassionate individuals.
