Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG), an international women’s education organization. The local chapter, that serves North Allegheny, Shaler, North Hills, Avonworth, and Northgate is Alpha Xi, regularly awards 2 enrichment grants to be given to nonmember female teachers. The grants are funded by members of Delta Kappa Gamma.

This year both grants have been awarded to Shaler Area High School teachers for projects with their classes. Abbey Nilson received a grant for a Sustainability Project and Kristen Paul received a grant for her FACS classes and supplies. I was told their applications were outstanding.

Shaler Area High School teacher and DKG member Jade Leung shared, “I was so happy to see the grants go to SAHS teachers for their excellent work in helping our students. I attached a picture from last night of them receiving their grants from our grant committee chair.”
