Jordan Fowler Earns Place in PMEA All-State Choral Ensemble

It is with immense pride that Shaler Area School District announces that Jordan Fowler (12) has earned a place among the top vocalists in Pennsylvania! This outstanding achievement means that Shaler Area School District will be represented at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Choral Ensemble—a feat comparable to winning a state championship!

Jordan, a passionate and dedicated musician, is a proud member of our Honors Chamber Choir, Honors Women’s Chorus, Jazz 1 Ensemble, Honors Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. Her journey to the All-State Choir began in November when she auditioned for PMEA District Chorus, earning a spot among more than 100 students from 51 school districts. After an incredible performance at the festival, Jordan ranked among the top 14 in her section, advancing to the PMEA Region 1 Chorus at Waynesburg University.

At Region Chorus, Jordan delivered a phenomenal audition, ranking in the top six of her section and earning an impressive third place among Soprano 1s—a remarkable achievement that secured her a coveted spot in the 2025 PMEA All-State Chorus!

The PMEA All-State Choir brings together 240 of the most exceptional high school vocalists from across Pennsylvania. Jordan’s selection is a testament to her outstanding talent, unwavering dedication, and relentless hard work.
In addition to this incredible achievement, Jordan will also perform with the Honors Women’s Chorus as part of the prestigious PMEA All-State Performing Ensembles on Friday, April 11, 2025! This is yet another remarkable honor that showcases her exceptional musicianship and the high caliber of talent at Shaler Area High School.

The All-State Choir experience will take place at Pocono Mountain East High School during the 2025 PMEA All-State Conference from April 9-12, 2025, culminating in a spectacular All-State Choir Concert on Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at the Kalahari Convention Center. Even more exciting, Jordan will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with world-renowned conductor Dr. Rollo A. Dilworth, Vice Dean and Professor of Music Education at Boyer College of Music and Dance.

Kristin Tepshich, Director of Choirs for Shaler Area High School, shared, “Congratulations, Jordan! Your talent, determination, and hard work continue to inspire us all. You are making history for Shaler Area, and we couldn’t be prouder!”
