SAMS is Implementing Minga, a Cutting -age Digital Hall Pass System

We are thrilled to announce the implementation of Minga, a cutting-age digital hall pass system, at Shaler Area Middle School! This new system is designed to enhance academic success, increase school safety, and streamline our daily operations to better serve our students and teachers.

Here’s why we are excited about Minga and how it will positively impact our school community:

  • More Time in the Classroom: Minga will help reduce time spent outside the classroom by ensuring students transition efficiently and stay focused on learning. With fewer interruptions and more time dedicated to academic instruction, we can continue to elevate student achievement.
  • Reduced Classroom Disruptions: Gone are the days of teachers pausing lessons to handwrite hall passes! With Minga, the process of managing student transitions will happen seamlessly, allowing teachers to focus fully on delivering high-quality instruction.
  • Enhanced School Safety: Minga gives us the ability to monitor and limit the number of students in specific areas of the building at any given time. This added layer of security ensures our school remains a safe and orderly environment for everyone.

Starting January 27th, students will begin using Minga to request and manage hall passes. We will provide students with instructions on how to use the system and address any questions they may have during the rollout. Parents, we encourage you to talk to your children about the importance of maximizing classroom time and how Minga supports their academic success.

We are confident that Minga will be a valuable tool in achieving our shared goal of creating a positive, safe, and distraction-free learning environment. Thank you for your continued support as we work to enhance the Shaler Area Middle School experience for all students.

If you have any questions about Minga or its implementation, please do not hesitate to contact our school office at 412-492-1200, x 2500.
