This fall, students from Shaler Area Middle School traveled to the Pittsburgh Glass Center to learn about the science and art of working with glass. Students learned about the elements that create the various colors and feel the heat from the furnaces that keep the glass liquid 24 hours a

November is World Kindness month and throughout the month, Shaler Area Middle Students undertook a Kindness Campaign. The initiative worked to encourage kindness in partnership with #BeTheKindKid. In honor of this month, Dr. Howard asked teachers to nominate students who demonstrate kindness. 10 students were selected and given a #BeTheKindKid

The culinary crew from Shaler Area Middle School made it to the finals in Star 100.7’s Battle of the Lunch Ladies. The Titan Bowl boasted a strong showing and bowled over much of the competition. Although we lost in the final round, we look forward to a rematch next year!

In October, Shaler Area Middle School hosted the 8th-Grade Career Road Show, a career exploration day in which A.W. Beattie Career center brings experts and equipment to Shaler Area Middle School. Congratulations to the middle school girls on their success at the North Allegheny Cross Country Invitational in October.
