Thank you to Officer Haines and Officer Nock of Shaler Township Police Department, as well as all the officers from Etna, Millvale, Reserve, and Shaler who are part of Operation Safe Stop October 21–25, 2024. Together we are increasing safety for our students as they get on and off the bus each day.

Operation Safe Stop is a statewide initiative focused on raising awareness about the importance of school bus safety, reminding drivers to stop for buses when red lights are flashing and stop arms are extended. The goal is to prevent dangerous situations and ensure that our students are protected as they travel to and from school each day.

National School Bus Safety Week also provides an opportunity for families to remind their children of key bus safety tips, such as waiting for the bus at least five giant steps from the curb, staying seated while on the bus, and always crossing the street in front of the bus after ensuring it’s safe to do so.
