Dear Shaler Area families:

As you are aware, our region is continuing to experience high temperatures reaching more than 90 degrees. Because our buildings will not have an opportunity to sufficiently cool down overnight, we are taking a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff. The Shaler Area School District will operate an early dismissal schedule on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Dismissal times will be as follows:

• High School                          11:45 am
• Middle School                      12:15 pm
• Elementary School              12:30 pm
• Primary Schools                   1:00 pm

Head coaches will decide whether or not to cancel middle and high school athletic practices and games.  Families will be contacted by the respective coach/sponsor.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this unexpected schedule change may cause, but we know you share our concern for the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority.
