Welcome to the Buildings & Grounds Department at Shaler Area School District.  Our department is dedicated to ensuring students and educators alike have a clean and safe learning environment. Our team of custodial maintenance experts work diligently throughout the school year and during the summer to achieve this standard.

This office is responsible for a wide range of functions, including the maintenance of 98 acres of grounds and over 600,000 sq.ft. of cleanable space, along with all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and athletic equipment in the district.

Staff works with the Shaler Area community to permit school spaces for community use when it doesn’t interfere with the educational programs of the school, along with the set up and clean up of any events in the district whether it be school related or community use.
