Last week, four students from the Shaler Area Elementary School participated in PMEA Elementary String Festival held at Eden Hall Upper Elementary School in Pine Richland School District. Hanna Lin, Andrew Evans, Evelyn Geary, and Lexy Saracena had the opportunity to work with Mr. Brian Buterbaugh, Music Director/ Conductor of the York Youth Symphony Orchestra and Hershey High School Orchestra.

Students spent the day in sectionals perfecting their individual parts and rehearsing with many other Elementary school students from 56 surrounding districts. A beautiful concert consisting of 5 different pieces were performed to conclude the day’s festivities. These four students represented our school extremely well, and should be commended on their hard work, dedication to their instrument, and the evening’s performance.
