The Shaler Area School District has received numerous awards for excellence in communication in the 2025 PenSPRA Excellence in Education Communication Contest, which highlights school districts from across the commonwealth for their digital and print communication.
Shaler Area received an award of excellence for the infographic Shaler Area By The Numbers, an award of merit for the newsletter Shaler Area Showcase, and honorable mentions for the Building for Tomorrow infographic and Dr. O’Black’s holiday message.
Dr. Bryan O’Black, Superintendent of Schools, shared that this honor reflects the caliber and character of our Shaler Area community. He reflects, “While these honors reflect the creativity and professionalism of our communications efforts, they are truly a testament to all of you. Every story we tell — whether highlighting student achievement, innovative instruction, community partnerships, or district initiatives — begins with the incredible work happening in our classrooms, offices, and schools each day.”
The Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association was chartered in 1969 and is an organization of school public relations professionals whose goal is to improve educational communication and support student achievement through systematic, proactive, and responsible public relations programs.
