February 27, 2026
As we move through another busy week, I am continually reminded that the strength of our schools is found in the daily experiences our students share—inside classrooms, in hallways, on fields, and throughout our community. Each interaction, lesson, and conversation contributes to an environment where children feel supported, challenged, and inspired.
Across our district, students are developing more than academic skills. They are learning how to collaborate, think critically, persevere through setbacks, and take ownership of their learning. They are building confidence in their abilities and discovering the importance of respect, responsibility, and empathy.
This growth is made possible through a powerful partnership. Our dedicated staff bring expertise and care to their work each day. Our families reinforce learning and values at home. And our students continue to show curiosity, resilience, and pride in their schools. Together, we create the conditions for success.
As part of our continued planning for the year ahead, the Shaler Area School District Board of School Directors approved the 2026–2027 School Calendar at its February 18 meeting. This annual calendar outlines important dates, including the start and end of the school year, holidays, and scheduled breaks, and is designed to support strong instructional planning and family scheduling. We encourage families to review the calendar and associated dates by visiting https://shalerarea.org/calendars/
I am grateful for the trust you place in us and for the role you play in shaping our school community. Your involvement and support make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children.
Thank you for walking alongside us in this important work. It is a privilege to serve such an engaged and committed community, and I look forward to the continued growth and accomplishments ahead.
