Take 5 with Dr. O’Black — February 20

February 20, 2026

As another week comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize the countless small moments that, together, make a big difference in our schools. A teacher staying late to help a student, a custodian preparing a building before dawn, a counselor checking in at just the right time, or a student stepping up to help a classmate—these everyday actions are the foundation of a strong school community.

Across the district, our schools are places where responsibility, kindness, and perseverance are modeled daily. Students are learning that success is built through effort, reflection, and a willingness to grow. They are discovering how to manage challenges, celebrate progress, and take pride in their work.

None of this happens in isolation. It is the result of people who care deeply about doing things the right way—for students and for one another. I am grateful for the professionalism of our staff, the involvement of our families, and the positive spirit our students bring to each day.

Thank you for continuing to invest in our schools and in each other. Together, we are shaping not only strong learners, but strong people, prepared for whatever comes next.
