In December, The Shaler Area Sustainability Club (Emma, Cass, Rylin, Violet, Abby, Kori, and Ms. Nilson) presented their “Furniture of the Future” project to Workscape, Inc. The students represented Shaler Area with excellence.

Did you know that over half of the solid waste in landfills comes from construction and demolition projects? Workscape Inc. works hard to change this by working with DIRTT and MillerKnoll to provide their customers with durable and sustainable furniture and construction materials that are made without generating surplus or scrap material and can be moved, repositioned, or reused.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity for students in the The Shaler Area Sustainability Club to present their “Furniture of the Future” project and learn about furniture and construction sustainability from these professionals!
