December 5, 2025
As we turn the page from November into December, I continue to be inspired by the dedication, collaboration, and achievements that define our Shaler Area community. The holiday season invites us to pause, reflect on all that we have accomplished together, and refocus on the meaningful work that lies ahead in support of our students and families. I’m pleased to share several recent highlights and upcoming events from across the district:
School Board Reorganization
On Wednesday, December 3, the Shaler Area School District held its annual School Board
Reorganization meeting. During this meeting, the Board re-elected leadership for the
upcoming year. I am pleased to announce that James Tunstall has been re-elected as School
Board President, and Eileen Phillips as School Board Vice President.
We also welcomed three new members to the Shaler Area Board of School Directors: Daeja Baker, Amy Goldberg, and Robert Cessar. We look forward to their leadership and partnership in advancing the mission of the Shaler Area School District.

Be Prepared for Inclement Weather
As the temperatures drop, it’s the perfect time to refamiliarize yourself with procedures for school delays or closings and ensure you have a plan in place in the event of inclement weather. Read more by visiting the district website.
