In November, Major David L. Boyles, Director of Public Affairs for the Pennsylvania National Guard and art teacher at Shaler Area High School, visited Burchfield to read a story and talk with students about his military service.

It was an engaging and meaningful way to help students understand the meaning of Veterans Day.

Burchfield also honored veterans who are family members of our students and staff with our Wall of Veterans, featuring more than 100 bios to recognize and thank them for their service.
