We’re proud to share that our third graders at Reserve Primary participated in the Pittsburgh Penguins Science Champions program today! Through this incredible partnership, our students became real scientists, exploring matter, experimenting with solids, liquids, and gases, and putting their engineering skills to the test.
Their challenge? Design a way to keep an ice cube frozen the longest! Teams experimented with different materials, and the winning group discovered that bubble wrap and aluminum foil made the perfect insulation combo, keeping part of their ice cube frozen even four hours later!
The winning group walked away with an Official Pittsburgh Penguins Science Champions puck and a big sense of pride in their engineering and scientific problem-solving.
Go Penguins! Go Titans!
