Congratulations to the middle school girls on their success at the North Allegheny Cross Country Invitational in October.
Approximately 20 schools were in attendance, and the Titans had a strong showing against a few hundred runners. Five boys competed in the select race, in which 83 of the top runners from across the area battled for victory. Patrick Morrow earned a medal for finishing 13th overall with a new course PR of 11:27. Nate McDermott, Blair Adkins, Zach Bal, and Ben Bartolowits also earned course PRs that placed them high enough to earn ribbons. Six boys competed in the open race, five of whom earned ribbons for their new course PRs. Cayden Crooks, Austin Hajdukiewicz, Blake Hogan, Anuar Arifi, and Evan Kenna walked away with ribbons, and Alex Fedel earned a course-best time of 17:09.
Last year there were no girls on the team, but this year some fantastic runners showed up ready for success. Led by Emily Hennen’s second place finish out of 155 runners, the girls all saw success against the competition. Olivia Cravotta, Olivia Fitzgerald, and Natalie Bushyager earned course-best times for the season, and Olivia Fitzgerald also earned a ribbon for her time of 17:49, a new PR by over a minute.
