In February, talented singers from Shaler Area High School competed with over 200 other vocalists from 51 surrounding school districts at the PMEA District 1 Chorus auditions, where they were evaluated for their placement within the ensemble.
We are proud to announce that the following SAHS students have successfully auditioned and will advance to the PMEA Region I Chorus:
- Jordan Fowler – Soprano 1
- Abigail Tepshich – Alto 1
- Erin Raymond – Alto 2
- Jayden Aryee – Bass 2
“As their choral director, I could not be prouder of these students! They have dedicated countless hours to rehearsal, balancing after-school practices for the spring musical while preparing their PMEA music. All of this, of course, while also managing their midterm studies, maintaining excellent grades, and upholding high attendance standards. Our SAHS vocalists continue to set an exemplary standard of achievement in the PMEA festival circuit, thanks to their personal dedication and talent, as well as the collective efforts of the music educators who have shaped them throughout their musical journeys,” shared Kristin Tepshich, Director of Choirs for Shaler Area High School.
The PMEA Region I Senior High Chorus Festival will take place at Waynesburg University from March 19-21, 2025. Over the course of a month, these students will rehearse their music individually before coming together for two days of ensemble practice, under the direction of Dr. Daniel Singer, Music Director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. The final concert will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 7:30 PM in Roberts Chapel at Waynesburg University.
Please join us in congratulating these students for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance in rehearsing their music both inside and outside of school, and for their outstanding commitment to excellence in representing Shaler Area!
