In December, band students from both the High School and Middle School had the opportunity to audition for the Allegheny Valley Honors Band. This prestigious group is composed of the top musicians in grades 7-12 from several school districts in the Allegheny Valley, including Shaler Area, Pine-Richland, North Allegheny, Fox Chapel, Hampton, North Hills, Northgate, Avonworth, and Riverview. The Honors Band will hold rehearsals and a concert at Pine-Richland High School on January 16-17, 2025. The guest conductor for the Senior High Band will be renowned composer and conductor Robert Sheldon, while Gregory Drake, Director of the Penn State Marching Blue Band, will conduct the Junior High Band.
