In November, first-grade students from Marzolf Primary enjoyed an exciting and cultured day. First, they attended a field trip to Heinz Hall to see Danbi. They had a special treat of seeing the author, Anna Kim, who shared with the audience how her experience of immigrating to the U.S. from Korea inspired her to write the story. She told students what it was like for her and the challenges she worked through. Her story expanded our perspective and broadened our understanding.
After first grade returned to school, they celebrated Thanksgiving with their traditional feast. Gathering along tables outside their classrooms, they were able to eat together and talk to one another as if they were one big family!
